The Seychelles Golf Club founded in 1971 is the only golf club on Mahe island. Originally
known as Reef Hotel Golf Club, it got its present name in 2001, when club members took over its management after the Hotel
closed down.
With a modest membership of 70 playing members and a handful of social members, it is situated
in Anse Aux Pins - on the road to Anse Royale. It has nine holes which double up to make a par 67 eighteen hole course
spread over 50 acres and measuring almost 5000 yards in length.
Although a short course, it plays longer than it appears on the card as the fairways do
not offer much roll to the ball.
The coconut palm-lined fairways are a nightmare for the player with a hook. The palm
trees have stood silent witness over the years to every type of shot from the chilli-dip to the skier to the slice and pull.
This website is as much a guide to the tourists who would like to put in a round of golf
or two as to its members who need information about day to day activities of the club.
